Philippa Lawford

Philippa Lawford is the Artistic Director and founder of Tightrope Theatre. She established Tightrope while a student at Oxford University and her work with the company has been selected for VAULT Festival, IUDF, A Pinch of VAULT and the National Student Drama Festival. She lives in Camberwell and also works as a freelance assistant director, workshop facilitator and and script reader. She was one of the founders of Bomb Factory Theatre, a women and non-binary playwrights’ initiative based in Archway.

Philippa’s debut play, IKARIA, won one of 5 runner-up awards for the Ambassador Theatre Group Playwrights’ Prize 2022, in association with Platform Presents and Time Out. She trained on an MSt in Writing for Performance at Cambridge University and the John Burgess Playwriting Course.  She loves theatre that is challenging and unpredictable, especially when it makes her laugh.

Izzy Parriss
 

Izzy Parriss

Izzy is Tightrope’s Lead Producer and Associate Director. She graduated from Edinburgh University with a BA in Philosophy and went on to complete and internship with the New York theatre company Yonder Window. She has worked freelance for the Ambassador Theatre Group, Theatre503, Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Bomb Factory Theatre and Three Sisters Productions. Izzy set up her own production company, Izzy Parriss Productions, in 2021, which took its debut production DEAR LITTLE LOZ to the Edinburgh Fringe in 2022. Izzy Parriss Productions recently launched its biannual new writing event SCRATCH and is currently developing two new plays. Izzy recently completed a RADA directing course led by Irina Brown.
